Estes Design and Manufacturing is going through an exciting leadership transition. We are pleased to announce that Tim Estes has taken over as President of our company, while Larry Estes who founded the business in 1976, remains involved day-to-day as an owner and mentor to support the company through this transition. This leadership change became effective on November 1, 2013. We thank Larry for his vision and the 37 years of leadership he has provided to our company and employees.
This change in leadership is one component of broader changes at Estes. We realize our success will not be from new leadership, but rather from all of our employees working together to serve our customers. The company has been undertaking many lean initiatives to become more nimble. One of the major changes has been the movement towards cellular manufacturing, which increases throughput by improving flow and reduces work in process by eliminating batch and queue. Estes is now setting up its third cell. These types of changes help to protect the integrity of Estes and ensure excellence for our customers.
