The manufacturing industry has certifications showcasing a company’s commitment to efficiency, process systems, risk management, quality control, and other high-level standards. For Estes, being awarded the ISO 13485 certification would allow for growth in a growing product line for our company- medical devices.
Estes was able to obtain this certification especially quickly when our leadership team reached out to the Purdue Technical Assistance Program (TAP) for assistance. The Purdue TAP team performed a gap analysis audit and assisted with risk management training at Estes. Our director of quality compliance, John Brown, said that “Estes knew where to find such a resource and immediately turned to Purdue TAP.”
Reaching out to the TAP program helped us cut down the original six month process of ISO 13485 implementation into just three short months. In January of 2015, Estes was proudly awarded the ISO 13485 certification. With the help of the Purdue TAP program, we can now focus on growing our medical device business along with constantly improving our core business functions to best meet our customer’s needs.
